Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market relies on the collective wisdom of traders. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook’s odds are inaccurate, they can drive the price on Polymarket in a different direction. It's common to see discrepancies, especially when there's strong public sentiment or inside information not yet reflected in sportsbook lines. Comparing the two can offer a more nuanced understanding of the potential outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the event's probability. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand within Polymarket, and is not influenced by external factors or any pre-defined formula.
This market resolves around Nov 4, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
