Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven purely by traders expressing their beliefs about the outcome, leading to odds that may be more accurate or simply offer a different perspective than traditional betting venues. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information or biases among participants.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting growing confidence. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price is entirely determined by supply and demand, meaning it’s a direct representation of collective prediction, rather than a fixed odd set by a bookmaker.
