Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs, leading to odds that can be more responsive to new information or shifts in sentiment. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially when public opinion diverges from expert analysis, or when there's asymmetric information available to market participants.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe an outcome is likely, the higher the share price will climb, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing reflects the collective intelligence of the crowd and adjusts in real-time as new information becomes available. The current price reflects the aggregated predictions of all traders.
This market resolves around Nov 2, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
