Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set initial lines based on their own analysis, while this market’s pricing is driven by traders who actively express their beliefs about the outcome. If a significant number of people believe a sportsbook has mispriced a player’s chances, they may trade in a way that causes the prediction market odds to diverge. It’s common to see prediction markets more accurately forecast event outcomes, especially when there’s substantial public interest and trading volume.
