Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, and may be influenced by promotional considerations. This market, however, is driven purely by the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. As a result, the odds on Polymarket can sometimes diverge from sportsbook lines, potentially offering value to informed bettors who can identify discrepancies based on their own analysis and insights.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting growing confidence. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts as new information becomes available and traders update their predictions, creating a constantly evolving assessment of the event's potential results.
This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
