Prediction market odds often differ from those found at traditional sportsbooks, reflecting the wisdom of the crowd versus the assessments of professional oddsmakers. Sportsbooks set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the outcome, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information sources, biases, or simply variations in opinion. It's common to see prediction markets react more quickly to new information than sportsbooks, as the price adjusts continuously with each trade.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more people buy shares in a particular outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price is determined solely by supply and demand; there are no external factors influencing the pricing mechanism on Polymarket.

Once the outcome is clear, the market will be settled, and shares will be redeemed accordingly.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before it resolves. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in playing conditions, or even significant shifts in public perception could cause the odds to move. Unexpected results in other matches involving these players could also impact the market, as traders adjust their expectations. Furthermore, large trades on Polymarket by informed bettors could create momentum and drive price changes, reflecting new information or strategic positioning.
