Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring profit regardless of the outcome. This market, however, is driven purely by the collective wisdom of traders, theoretically offering a more accurate assessment of probabilities. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, risk tolerance, or simply varying opinions among bettors and prediction market participants. It's common to see this market diverge from sportsbook odds, particularly as new information emerges.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and the implied probability rises. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is entirely determined by supply and demand; there is no central price setter. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust predictions accordingly.

This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official result of the William Norton versus Kylian Collignon tennis match in Monastir. The platform will determine the winning outcome based on publicly available and verifiable data sources. The outcome will be determined by which player wins the match, as officially recorded by the tournament organizers. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final result.

Several factors could influence the price movement of this market. Any news regarding player form, injuries, or changes in playing conditions could significantly shift trader sentiment. Unexpected results in earlier rounds of the tournament, or even weather forecasts impacting the match schedule, could also cause fluctuations. Furthermore, large trades by influential market participants could create short-term price swings. Monitoring tennis news, player updates, and overall market activity will be key to understanding potential movements in this market before Oct 25, 2026.
