Often, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs, leading to odds that can sometimes be more accurate or identify value overlooked by sportsbooks. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information sources, biases, or simply the dynamic nature of the prediction market as new information emerges.
