Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook odds which can be influenced by factors like public bias or promotional offers. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to express their independent beliefs. If there's a significant discrepancy, arbitrage opportunities may arise, potentially driving the prediction market odds closer to those offered by sportsbooks. However, this market can also incorporate information faster than traditional sportsbooks, especially regarding late-breaking news or changes in player form.
