Prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, while this market represents the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to predict the most likely outcome accurately. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information sources, biases, or simply the dynamics of each market. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster to incorporate new information, potentially offering a more accurate assessment of the probability of various outcomes compared to initial sportsbook offerings.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of a specific outcome.
