Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially differing from those set by traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market allows anyone to express their view, potentially incorporating information not fully captured by bookmakers. Discrepancies can arise due to differing opinions, access to unique data, or simply variations in risk assessment. It’s common to see prediction markets move independently of sportsbook odds as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts.

The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now.
