Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to profit by balancing action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a large number of people believe an outcome is more likely than a sportsbook suggests, the price of shares representing that outcome will rise. This can create opportunities for arbitrage or simply indicate a different assessment of probabilities than what is offered elsewhere. It's common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events.
