Generally, prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is underrating a player, they can express that view by buying 'yes' shares, driving up the price and indicating a higher probability. This dynamic can lead to odds discrepancies, as prediction markets can sometimes incorporate information faster than sportsbooks.
