Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set initial lines based on their own analysis, while this market’s odds are driven by supply and demand. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is mispricing the probability of a particular outcome in the Maanshan tennis match, they can express that view by trading on Polymarket. This can lead to odds that diverge from, or converge with, those found at sportsbooks, depending on the perceived value.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a specific outcome in the Maanshan tennis match. As more shares are purchased for a particular outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher implied probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly corresponds to the estimated probability of that outcome occurring. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds continuously adjust to incorporate new information and trader sentiment.
