Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, which can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals freely trading based on their own analysis and information. Therefore, discrepancies can arise due to differing opinions, access to information, or simply the dynamics of supply and demand within the prediction market. It's common to see prediction markets move faster to incorporate new information than sportsbooks.

The price of each share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more people buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price will fluctuate based on the collective actions of all participants, creating a dynamic and real-time assessment of the event’s potential results. This differs from fixed-odds betting where the odds are set by a bookmaker.
