Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd. This can lead to discrepancies, particularly when public opinion strongly differs from expert analysis. If a large number of people believe one player will win, the odds on Polymarket may shift in that direction, even if sportsbooks initially favored the other player. It's common to see prediction markets outperform sportsbooks in accuracy, as they benefit from diverse information and incentives.
