Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, and may be influenced by promotional considerations. This market, however, is driven purely by the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately predict the outcome. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on expert analysis, prediction markets can quickly adjust to new information and potentially offer more efficient pricing. It’s common to see discrepancies between the two, especially as the event approaches.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. As more shares are purchased for a specific outcome, its price increases, reflecting a higher implied probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by the collective actions of all traders participating in the market. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date information and expectations.

Several factors could influence the price movement of this market. Any news regarding player form, injuries, or changes in playing conditions could significantly shift trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements related to the match schedule or venue could also have an impact. Furthermore, major upsets in other related matches or tournaments might influence perceptions of player momentum.
