Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of participants, and can sometimes differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and risk management, while this market is driven by individual traders’ beliefs. If sportsbook odds significantly diverge from those seen here, it could indicate disagreement about the likely outcome or differing interpretations of available information. It’s important to compare and contrast to form your own informed opinion.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price indicates the market’s assessment of the likelihood of a particular player winning, and fluctuates based on supply and demand. Higher demand for shares in a specific outcome will drive up its price, and vice versa.
