Frequently asked questions

Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals freely trading based on their own analysis and information. As a result, the implied probabilities in this market may offer a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks, potentially revealing insights that are not immediately apparent. It's important to compare and contrast to form your own informed opinion.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more shares purchased for a particular outcome, the higher its price rises, indicating increased confidence from market participants. Conversely, selling shares lowers the price, suggesting decreasing confidence. This dynamic process ensures that the market price continuously adjusts to incorporate new information and changing sentiment.

This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the James Pikkaart versus TAKUMI KATSUDA match, as determined by the governing body of the M15 Heraklion tournament.
