Sportsbooks set initial lines based on their own analysis, while this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities as new information emerges. Discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of information, biases, or simply varying opinions among bettors and prediction market participants. It's common to see this market adjust rapidly to news or developments that might not be immediately reflected in sportsbook lines.
