Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and often incorporate a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals trading on their own insights and information. If a significant number of people believe a sportsbook is mispricing an outcome, they can express that view by trading on Polymarket, potentially causing the odds to diverge. It’s common to see prediction markets offer more accurate probabilities, especially as the event approaches and more information becomes available.
