Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds due to varying information and incentives. Sportsbooks typically set odds to maximize profit, factoring in a margin for themselves, while this market allows traders to directly express their beliefs about the outcome. If there's a significant discrepancy between the two, it could indicate that the market believes the sportsbook has mispriced the event, or that new information hasn’t yet been fully incorporated into sportsbook lines. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster to reflect new developments than traditional betting venues.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price reflects the collective assessment of all participants, creating a dynamic and real-time estimation of the event’s likelihood. This allows for a transparent and efficient way to gauge public opinion on the Wassermann vs. Castro match.

This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Wassermann vs. Castro match as reported by the governing body of the sport. The platform will verify the result against reliable sources to ensure accuracy and fairness. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or adjust their positions based on the final outcome. It's important to monitor official sources for updates as the resolution date approaches.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before it resolves. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in form, or tactical adjustments could significantly shift trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements about the playing conditions or referee assignments could also impact the odds. Furthermore, major upsets in related matches or tournaments might lead traders to reassess their probabilities. Monitoring sports news, expert analysis, and social media discussions can provide valuable insights into potential catalysts that could move this market as the event draws closer.
