Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. As more information becomes available – such as player form, injury reports, or weather conditions – the odds on Polymarket may shift in response, potentially aligning or diverging from sportsbook offerings depending on how the crowd interprets the new data.

The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders believe in a particular outcome, the higher the price of its corresponding shares will climb. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the collective intelligence of participants, providing a forward-looking assessment of the event's potential results.
