Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. Therefore, you may observe discrepancies between the implied probabilities on Polymarket and those offered by traditional sportsbooks. These differences can arise from varying information sources, analytical approaches, or simply differing opinions on the likely outcome of the Lyon Open doubles match.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome of the Lyon Open doubles match. The price of these shares fluctuates based on supply and demand. As more traders believe a particular outcome is likely, the price of shares representing that outcome will increase, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing allows the market to reflect the evolving expectations of participants as new information becomes available, offering a real-time assessment of the event's potential results.
