Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and aim to balance their book, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the outcome. If a significant number of people believe a sportsbook is undervaluing a particular player, the prediction market odds will adjust accordingly. It’s common to see prediction markets converge towards what many consider the ‘true’ probability as more information becomes available, though discrepancies can persist due to differing risk appetites.
