This market focuses on determining which team will score more points in the second half of a college football game between LSU and Kentucky. It specifically tracks performance from halftime onward, including any overtime periods, to decide the outcome.
The market resolves based on which team scores more points in the second half (including overtime) of the LSU vs Kentucky college football game scheduled for October 10, 2026. If Kentucky scores more second-half points, the market resolves to Yes for the Kentucky outcome. If LSU scores more second-half points, the market resolves to Yes for the LSU outcome. If both teams score an equal number of points in the second half, the market resolves to Yes for the Tie outcome. For any game postponed but starting within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, the market resolves to a fair price. Only points scored during the second half (including overtime) count toward the resolution.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set their odds based on statistical models and expert analysis, but can be influenced by factors like public betting bias or risk management. This market, driven by traders’ individual predictions, can sometimes offer a more accurate forecast, especially as more information becomes available closer to the event. Discrepancies between prediction markets and sportsbooks can present opportunities for informed traders to find value.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about the probability of either LSU or Kentucky winning the second half. As more traders participate, the price fluctuates, reflecting the collective expectation. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a contract represents the probability of that outcome occurring, scaled to a value between 0 and 100. A higher price indicates greater confidence in that team winning the second half, while a lower price suggests less confidence.
This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The team leading at the end of the second half will be declared the winner, and that result will determine the payout of contracts on Kalshi. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics and final score, as reported by a trusted sports data source. Traders holding contracts for the winning team will receive a payout, while those holding contracts for the losing team will not.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before the game concludes. Any news regarding key player injuries or changes in team strategy could significantly shift expectations. Live game events, such as a dominant performance by one team in the first half, or unexpected turnovers, will also likely cause price fluctuations. Public sentiment, reflected in betting patterns and media coverage, can also play a role in moving the market, as traders react to new information and adjust their predictions accordingly.
