Generally, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the dynamic nature of trading. If there's a significant difference, it might suggest the market believes a sportsbook has mispriced the probability of a particular outcome in the LSU-Auburn first half.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book, where traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about the first half winner. The price of a contract ranges from 0 to 100, representing the probability of that outcome occurring. As more people buy contracts for a particular team, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing mechanism means the market constantly adjusts to new information and sentiment surrounding the LSU-Auburn game.
