Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of forecasters, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically set odds based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market aggregates the views of many individuals. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the dynamic nature of prediction markets as new information becomes available. It is common to see prediction markets move faster than sportsbook odds in response to breaking news or shifts in sentiment.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the price adjusts to reflect the collective prediction. The current price indicates the market's assessment of the likelihood of L.R. Vicenza scoring first in the match.

This market resolves around Oct 27, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team scores the first goal in the L.R. Vicenza vs. Modena FC 2018 match. The result will be determined by official match records and verified by sources considered authoritative for soccer results. Traders will be able to claim their winnings based on the final, officially recorded outcome of the first goalscorer.

Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding team lineups, player injuries, or changes in coaching staff could significantly shift predictions. Unexpected weather conditions or even pre-match commentary from analysts could also impact the odds. A surprising announcement about a key player's form or a tactical shift expected by either team could cause traders to reassess their positions. Overall, any information that alters perceptions of each team’s chances of scoring first has the potential to move this market.
