On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether a golfer will finish in the top 5. As more people buy shares in a particular outcome, the price of those shares increases, reflecting a higher implied probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movement is driven by supply and demand, meaning that if many traders believe a golfer has a strong chance, the price of their 'top 5' share will rise, and vice-versa. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust probabilities accordingly.
This market resolves around Nov 2, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final leaderboard of the Maybank Championship is verified against credible public reporting. The market will determine which golfers ultimately finished within the top 5 positions. Resolution will be based on the official tournament results published by the LPGA, and any ties will be considered as per standard golf tournament rules. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final outcome.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding golfer injuries, changes in form during practice rounds, or even weather forecasts predicting challenging conditions could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected strong performances by underdogs in early rounds of the tournament could also cause a rapid reassessment of probabilities. Major announcements related to the tournament itself, such as course changes or player withdrawals, would also be key catalysts. Monitoring these events and their potential impact on player performance is crucial for understanding potential market movements.
