On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of an albatross being scored in the LOTTE Championship, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more people buy shares, the price increases, indicating a higher perceived probability, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date collective assessment of the event's likelihood. The market’s efficiency is driven by traders seeking to profit from perceived mispricings.
This market resolves around Oct 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will depend on whether an albatross (a score of three under par on a single hole) is officially recorded during the LOTTE Championship tournament. Official tournament results will be used to determine if an albatross occurred. The market will then settle to 100% if an albatross is scored, or 0% if no albatross is recorded during the entire tournament. The final result will be based on official scoring records.
Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market. Any news regarding the course conditions at the LOTTE Championship, particularly factors that might make scoring an albatross more or less likely, could impact trading activity. Strong performances by players known for aggressive play or exceptional iron shots might also increase demand for shares. Unexpected weather conditions, like favorable winds or softer greens, could also shift the market. Finally, any significant updates regarding player participation or injuries could also influence the perceived probability of an albatross being scored.
