Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess probabilities. This can lead to differences, particularly when there's strong public sentiment or disagreement about the likely outcome. It's common to see prediction markets reflect the 'wisdom of the crowd' more accurately than fixed-odds betting, though sportsbook odds can still provide a useful benchmark for comparison.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each possible outcome of the second half. The price of each share directly reflects the probability of that outcome, as determined by supply and demand. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the collective intelligence of all participants.

This market resolves around Oct 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result of the second half of the Louletano DC vs. Rio Ave FC match will be used to determine the winning share(s). Resolution will be based on the official match result as reported by a trusted sports data provider, ensuring a fair and transparent outcome for all traders participating in this market.

Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market. Any news regarding team injuries, changes in player lineups, or even weather conditions could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected events during the first half of the match, such as a red card or a significant goal, would likely cause a rapid adjustment in probabilities. Furthermore, large trading volume from informed participants could also signal a shift in expectations, potentially moving this market significantly before Oct 17, 2026.
