Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market's pricing is driven by traders directly expressing their beliefs about the outcome. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook has mispriced a particular result, the odds on Polymarket will move accordingly, potentially offering an edge. It's common to see prediction markets converge towards the 'true' probability as more information becomes available and trading volume increases.
