This market refers to the LoL Round 1 match between Team Secret Whales and LYON in the Worlds Group Stage, initially scheduled for October 23, 2026 at 7:00 PM ET. This market will resolve to "Team Secret Whales" if Team Secret Whales win the match against LYON. This market will resolve to "LYON" if LYON win the match against Team Secret Whales. If the match is canceled (not played at all) or ends in a tie, this market will resolve to 50-50. If the match is postponed, it must be rescheduled to a start time on or before November 6, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET (14 calendar days after the originally scheduled start of October 23, 2026 at 7:00 PM ET). If, by that deadline, the most recently announced rescheduled start time is on or before the deadline, this market resolves based on the result of the match as played. Otherwise, this market resolves 50-50, regardless of whether the match is subsequently played. If the match begins but is not completed, and one team wins due to the opponent's forfeiture, disqualification, or walkover, this market will resolve to the team who wins. If the match ends in a forfeit, disqualification, or walkover (team withdraws before the start and the other wins automatically), this market will resolve to 50-50. The resolution source for this market will be official information from https://gol.gg/esports/home. However, if https://gol.gg/esports/home has not published final results within 2 hours after the event’s conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead including video evidence. In cases where a team’s listed name includes minor discrepancies from the resolution source, this market will resolve based on the underlying real-world match rather than exact name matching. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor tags, affiliate or academy designations, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences will be treated as referring to the same team, provided the intended team can be clearly and uniquely identified within the relevant competition. If a listed team name has no reasonable connection to any participating team, or if it matches or could reasonably refer to another team in the same competition such that the intended team cannot be unambiguously determined, this market will resolve 50-50.

Often, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market reflects the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders. This can lead to discrepancies, particularly when public perception differs from expert analysis. While sportsbooks may initially favor one team, the prediction market may show a more nuanced view, especially as new information emerges. It’s valuable to compare both to gain a more complete understanding of potential outcomes.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. As more people buy contracts for a particular team, the price increases, and the implied probability rises. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust its predictions accordingly, providing a real-time assessment of the likely winner of the LoL Worlds Group Stage match.
This market resolves around Oct 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the LoL Worlds Group Stage match between Team Secret Whales and LYON, as declared by the League of Legends tournament organizers. The winning team, as determined by the best-of-one series, will be the outcome reflected in the market’s resolution. Traders will be able to see the final result and the corresponding payout for their contracts following the official announcement.
Several factors could influence this market before the match takes place. Any news regarding player form, team strategies, or potential roster changes could significantly shift the odds. Unexpected announcements about player health, such as injuries or illness, would likely have a substantial impact. In-game performance during the early stages of the match, if available via live feeds, could also cause rapid adjustments in the market. Finally, any significant shifts in public sentiment, perhaps driven by analyst predictions or social media buzz, could also move the market.
