Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often include a 'vig' or commission, which slightly reduces the payout for winning bets. This market, driven by the collective wisdom of PredictionHero users, aims to reflect the true probability of the event occurring. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on expert analysis, prediction markets can quickly adjust based on a wider range of information and opinions, potentially offering more accurate probabilities as the event approaches. It's common to see discrepancies between the two, especially as new information emerges.

On Limitless, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders can buy and sell contracts representing the outcome. The price of a contract reflects the market’s assessment of the probability of Liverpool winning by two or more goals. As more traders buy contracts, the price increases, indicating a higher perceived probability. Conversely, selling contracts drives the price down. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price represents the collective belief of all participants, and is constantly fluctuating based on supply and demand. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows for real-time adjustments based on new information and sentiment.

This market resolves around Oct 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Liverpool vs Manchester City match. Specifically, the market will determine whether Liverpool won the match by a margin of two or more goals. The final score will be verified against official sources to determine the winning outcome and settle the market accordingly. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or adjust their positions based on the confirmed result.

Several factors could significantly influence this market before it resolves. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Liverpool or Manchester City would likely cause a shift in the odds. Tactical announcements from either manager, such as confirmed starting lineups or changes in formation, could also impact trader sentiment. Furthermore, the results of other matches involving these teams leading up to the event, or even broader football news, could influence perceptions of their relative strengths. Unexpected weather conditions on match day could also play a role, potentially affecting the style of play and the final outcome.
