Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, which represents their profit margin. This market, driven by the collective intelligence of traders on Limitless, aims to represent the true probability of the event occurring, without a built-in profit margin for the venue. However, discrepancies can arise due to differing opinions, information access, and risk assessments between market participants and sportsbook operators. It’s common to see prediction markets more accurately reflect probabilities as the event approaches.

On Limitless, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders can buy and sell contracts representing their belief in whether Liverpool will win by two or more goals against Brentford. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, directly reflecting the collective prediction of the crowd. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more people believe the outcome is likely, the price increases, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust its assessment of the probability. The current price represents the implied probability of this event happening.

This market resolves around Oct 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the Liverpool vs Brentford match is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on whether Liverpool wins the match by a margin of two or more goals. Official match results from reputable sports news sources will be used to determine the winning outcome. The platform will then distribute payouts to those who correctly predicted the result, based on the final market price at resolution.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before Oct 18, 2026. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Liverpool or Brentford would likely have a significant impact. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments, or even weather conditions could also shift the perceived probability of Liverpool winning by two or more goals. Unexpected news related to team morale or managerial decisions could also play a role. Furthermore, large trading volume on Limitless itself, driven by informed traders, can cause noticeable price movements.
