Description

This prediction market asks users to predict which team, Liverpool FC or Villarreal CF, will score the first goal in their upcoming match. A 'Neither' option is also available if no goal is scored within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time.

PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Unified Resolution Criteria (Consistent across platforms)

Both Polymarket and Predict define the same resolution criteria, including the timeframe, the 'Neither' outcome, and the handling of postponements and cancellations.Primary resolution logic: Official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers, with fallback to Flashscore, Sofascore, and credible reporting.

Core resolution logic:

  • The first team to score within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time determines the winner.
  • If no team scores within the specified timeframe, the market resolves to 'Neither'.
  • Postponement extends the market's open status until the match is completed.
  • Cancellation results in a 'Neither' resolution.

Edge cases & clarifications:

  • Data Availability: If official statistics are unavailable within 2 hours of the match's conclusion, the markets will use Flashscore, then Sofascore, and finally a consensus of credible reporting to determine the outcome. If no data is available within 24 hours, the market will resolve 50-50 (or 'Draw' where applicable).
  • Score Revisions: Revisions to officially declared final scores made *after* market resolution will not be considered.
Timing: Resolution will occur as soon as the official final result is available, but no later than 24 hours after the event's conclusion, potentially resolving to a 50-50 split if data remains unavailable. Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd approach, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks may incorporate factors like promotional offers or biases, while this market relies on traders directly assessing the probability of an event. Generally, prediction markets tend to be more accurate than traditional betting markets, especially closer to the event date. However, differences can exist due to varying levels of liquidity and information available to each group. It's valuable to compare both to gain a comprehensive understanding of potential outcomes.

Polymarket and Predict can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Prices on Polymarket and Predict for this market may differ due to several factors. These platforms have distinct user bases, leading to varying opinions and trading activity. Additionally, the liquidity and volume on each platform can influence prices; higher volume generally leads to tighter spreads. Different risk appetites among traders on Polymarket and Predict can also contribute to price discrepancies. Finally, the specific mechanisms for price discovery—how traders set the odds by buying and selling—may vary between the two platforms, resulting in different probabilities for the same outcome.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Liverpool FC or Villarreal CF would likely cause significant movement. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments, or even weather conditions could also impact trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements about starting lineups or pre-match team news could also shift the odds. Major upsets in other related matches or broader football news could indirectly affect this market as well.
