Frequently asked questions

Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often proving more accurate than traditional sportsbook odds, particularly as an event approaches. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. However, sportsbook odds can sometimes move this market, especially if a large, public bet is placed at a sportsbook. It's common to see initial discrepancies between the two, but these often narrow as more information becomes available and trading volume increases. Analyzing both can provide a more comprehensive view of potential outcomes.

This market resolves around Oct 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result of the second half of the Liverpool vs. Manchester City match will be used to determine the winning outcome. The platform will verify the result against official sources to ensure accuracy. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will be entitled to a payout, while those holding shares in losing outcomes will forfeit their investment. The resolution process is designed to be transparent and objective, based on the official match result.

Several factors could influence trading activity in this market before resolution. Any news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Liverpool or Manchester City could significantly shift the odds. Tactical changes announced by either manager, or even unexpected weather conditions on match day, could also impact trader sentiment. Major shifts in public opinion, reflected in polls or analyst predictions, could also drive price movements. Finally, large trades on Polymarket itself can create short-term volatility, particularly if they represent a strong conviction about a specific outcome.
