In the upcoming EFL Cup (Carabao Cup) game between Liverpool FC and Chelsea FC, scheduled for October 28, 2026 at 4:00 PM ET: This market will resolve based on the final score of the Liverpool FC vs. Chelsea FC match originally scheduled for October 28, 2026 at 4:00 PM ET, considering only the result at the end of 90 minutes of regulation plus stoppage time; extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. If the actual score is not one of the explicitly listed outcomes, the market resolves to "Any Other Score." If the match is postponed, the market will remain open until it is completed; if it is canceled with no make-up game, the market resolves to "0-0." The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook offerings. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market allows traders to express their own beliefs about the probability of each exact score. If a significant number of traders believe a particular score is more likely than sportsbooks suggest, the odds on Polymarket will adjust accordingly. This can lead to prediction market prices being more accurate, particularly as the event approaches and more information becomes available. However, sportsbook odds can still offer value, especially if they diverge substantially.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing different exact scores. The price of each share reflects the market's collective belief about the probability of that score occurring. As more shares are traded, the price fluctuates, providing a dynamic assessment of the likely outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price movements are driven by supply and demand – if many traders buy shares in a particular score, its price will increase, indicating growing confidence in that result. Conversely, selling pressure will lower the price.
This market resolves around Oct 28, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the Liverpool vs Chelsea match is verifiable from credible public reporting. The exact score determined by official sources will be used to determine which shares pay out. The platform will then distribute funds to the holders of shares corresponding to the correct final score. It’s important to note that the final result must be officially recorded and widely available to ensure a fair and transparent resolution process for this market.
Several factors could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Liverpool or Chelsea would likely cause shifts in the odds, as would updates on team formations or tactical approaches. Unexpected weather conditions on match day could also influence the scoring potential. Furthermore, major upsets in other recent matches involving these teams, or changes in public sentiment reflected in sports news and analysis, could all contribute to price movements in this market. Overall team performance and any pre-match commentary will likely be closely watched by traders.
