Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on expert analysis and incorporate a margin for profit, while this market allows traders to express their own beliefs about the likelihood of each outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists, arbitrage opportunities may arise, where traders can profit by simultaneously betting on both platforms. However, it's important to remember that prediction market odds are dynamic and can change rapidly based on new information and trading activity.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the probability of a particular outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the price adjusts to reflect the collective wisdom of the crowd. The market’s volume and price fluctuations provide insights into how traders are assessing the potential for either team to score first in the second half.

This market resolves around Oct 25, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the outcome will be determined by which team scores the first goal in the second half of the Liverpool versus Brighton match. The official match records will serve as the basis for verifying the result. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final outcome and their positions in this market.

Several factors could influence the trading activity in this market. Any news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Liverpool or Brighton could significantly shift the odds. Tactical changes announced by either manager, or even pre-match analysis highlighting a team's attacking strengths, could also impact trading volume and price. Furthermore, live events during the first half of the match – such as a red card or an early goal – could trigger substantial movements in this market as traders react to the evolving game situation.
