Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on expert analysis and incorporate a margin for profit, while this market allows traders to express their own beliefs, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities. If sportsbook odds heavily favor one team, but volume in this market is more evenly distributed, it suggests disagreement between bettors and prediction market participants. Observing these differences can reveal insights into public perception and potential value.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is driven entirely by supply and demand, with traders adjusting their positions based on new information and their own analysis of the game. This creates a dynamic and responsive pricing system.

This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the outcome will be determined by which team—Liverpool or Arsenal—scores the first goal in the second half of the match. The result will be based on official match data and verified against credible public sources. The platform will then finalize the market, distributing payouts to those who correctly predicted the first team to score in the second half.

Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Liverpool or Arsenal would likely cause significant movement. Changes in team formations or tactical approaches announced before the match could also shift probabilities. Even the weather forecast, particularly if conditions are expected to be unfavorable, might impact trading. Finally, any pre-match analysis from respected football commentators or analysts could sway trader sentiment and alter the price of shares in this market.
