If no official final result is recognized and no make-up match is scheduled, this market will resolve "50-50." Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome.

Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks may set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, but can also be influenced by public betting patterns and the sportsbook’s own risk management. This market, however, represents the collective belief of traders who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the dynamic nature of both types of markets. It’s valuable to compare the two to gain a broader perspective on the potential for a high-scoring game.

On Limitless, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing the outcome. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as determined by supply and demand. As more traders believe there will be three or more goals, the price of the 'yes' contract will increase, and vice versa. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The platform uses a market-making system to ensure there’s always a bid and ask price available, facilitating trading and price discovery. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows for a constantly updated assessment of the event’s probability.

This market resolves around Oct 12, 2026, following the completion of the Liverpool versus Manchester City match. The outcome will be determined by the total number of goals scored by both teams during the game, verified against credible public reporting. The official match statistics from a reputable sports data provider will serve as the source for confirming whether three or more goals were scored. Traders will be able to see the final result reflected in the market’s resolution status once the data is confirmed.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before the match concludes. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Liverpool or Manchester City would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather conditions, such as heavy rain or strong winds, could also affect the expected goal total. Additionally, any tactical announcements from the managers regarding their starting lineups or game plans might shift trader sentiment. Finally, significant pre-match betting activity in traditional sportsbooks could also influence trading volume and price movement in this market.
