This market tracks which team will lead at the end of the first half in an upcoming college football game between LIU and New Haven. It focuses solely on the performance during the initial 30 minutes of play, ignoring the final outcome of the full game. The result depends exclusively on who holds the advantage when the first half concludes.
The market resolves based on which team is leading at the end of the first half of the LIU vs New Haven college football game scheduled for November 7, 2026. If New Haven scores more points than LIU in the first half, the 'New Haven' outcome resolves to Yes. If LIU scores more points than New Haven in the first half, the 'LIU' outcome resolves to Yes. If both teams score the same number of points in the first half, resulting in a tie, the 'Tie' outcome resolves to Yes. For all outcomes, only points scored during the first half count toward resolution. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result of the first half as played. If the game does not start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, the market resolves to a fair price. Typically, prediction market odds reflect a different set of information and incentives than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while Kalshi allows traders to directly assess the probability of an outcome. This can lead to differences in implied probabilities, particularly as new information emerges. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on team statistics and expert opinions, this market aggregates the wisdom of the crowd, potentially revealing insights overlooked by traditional oddsmakers. It’s common to see prediction markets become more accurate as the event approaches, as traders refine their assessments.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction, meaning traders buy and sell contracts representing potential outcomes. The price of a contract reflects the market's collective belief about the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price converges towards what the market deems a fair value. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movement is driven by supply and demand; if more people believe LIU will win the first half, the price of that outcome will increase, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows for real-time adjustments based on new information and changing sentiment.
This market resolves around Nov 7, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The winning team of the first half of the LIU vs New Haven game will determine the winning contract. The resolution will be based on the official result declared by the governing body of the game. Traders holding contracts for the winning outcome will receive a payout, while those holding contracts for the losing outcome will forfeit their investment. The final result will be publicly available following the conclusion of the first half.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the LIU or New Haven teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in team strategy or unexpected starting lineups could also impact trader sentiment. Furthermore, updates on weather conditions, which could affect playing style, or even public perception shifts based on pre-game analysis could all contribute to price fluctuations. Unexpected announcements related to the game itself, or even broader sporting news, could also move this market as traders adjust their probabilities.
