Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while this market allows traders to directly assess probabilities. Discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of information, expertise, and incentives among participants. If polls or analysts strongly favor one outcome, we might see a corresponding shift in the odds on Polymarket, but it's not guaranteed to mirror sportsbook pricing exactly.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price adjusts accordingly, providing a dynamic assessment of the event's likelihood. The market’s price is solely determined by supply and demand from traders on Polymarket.

Strong opinions from tennis analysts or significant betting activity at sportsbooks could also impact the price. Furthermore, any external factors affecting the players' ability to compete, such as weather conditions or travel disruptions, could cause movement in this market until the resolution date.
