Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often differ from those offered by traditional sportsbooks, reflecting the wisdom of the crowd versus the assessments of professional oddsmakers. Sportsbooks set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is mispricing an outcome, they can take the opposite position, driving the prediction market odds in a different direction. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before a lot of information is publicly available, or if there’s strong public bias towards a particular result.

On Limitless, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders can buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes. The price of each contract fluctuates based on supply and demand, with higher prices indicating a greater perceived probability of that outcome occurring. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are incentivized to provide accurate predictions, as they profit if their beliefs are correct and lose if they are wrong. This dynamic pricing mechanism aims to reflect the collective intelligence of the market participants regarding the Angers vs Lorient match.

This market resolves around Oct 26, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result of the Angers vs Lorient match – whether Angers wins, Lorient wins, or the game ends in a draw – will be used to determine the winning contract. The resolution will be based on the official result as reported by a recognized sports data provider. Traders holding the winning contract will be paid out according to the final market price at resolution, while those holding losing contracts will forfeit their stake.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before the match takes place. Any news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Angers or Lorient would likely cause significant movement. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments, or even weather conditions could also impact trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements about key personnel changes, such as a new manager or a star player’s transfer, could also shift the odds. Major upsets in other Ligue 1 matches could also indirectly influence this market, as they might affect team morale or strategic approaches.
