Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from those offered by traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs. This can lead to discrepancies, particularly as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. It’s common to see prediction markets incorporate information more quickly than sportsbooks, potentially offering more accurate probabilities as the event approaches. However, sportsbook odds are readily available for comparison.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more people buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and the implied probability rises. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price reflects the collective assessment of all traders participating in this market, creating a dynamic and responsive valuation of the likelihood of either Lexington SC or El Paso Locomotive FC scoring first.

This market resolves around Oct 3, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team scores the first goal in the Lexington SC vs. El Paso match. If the match ends without either team scoring, or is abandoned before a goal is scored, the market will resolve according to the platform's specific rules for such scenarios. The final result will be determined by official match data and verified against reliable sources.
