Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market is driven purely by traders’ beliefs about the outcome. If a significant number of traders believe one team is more likely to score first, the odds will shift accordingly, potentially offering a different value than what’s available at a sportsbook. It's common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment changes leading up to the event.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in whether Atlético Madrid or Levante will score first. As more shares are purchased for a particular team, the price of those shares increases, reflecting a higher implied probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movements are driven by supply and demand, and the market dynamically adjusts to incorporate new information and changing opinions. The current price of shares indicates the market’s collective assessment of each team’s chances.

This market resolves around Oct 31, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team scores the first goal during the first half of the Atlético Madrid vs. Levante match. If no goal is scored in the first half, the market will resolve as 'No Goal'. The platform will verify the result against official match data to determine the winning outcome and distribute payouts to those who correctly predicted the first team to score.

Several factors could influence this market before the match concludes. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Atlético Madrid or Levante would likely cause significant price movement. Changes in team formations or tactical approaches announced before kickoff could also shift the odds. Even general news about team morale or recent performance could impact trader sentiment. Unexpected weather conditions on match day might also play a role, as could late-breaking reports about player fitness. Monitoring these signals is crucial for informed trading.
