Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring profit regardless of the outcome. This market, however, is driven purely by the collective wisdom of traders, theoretically resulting in more accurate probabilities. It's common to see discrepancies between prediction markets and sportsbooks, especially when public sentiment strongly favors one outcome. Analyzing these differences can be valuable for informed decision-making.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market's price reflects the aggregated views of all participants, creating a dynamic and real-time assessment of the event's likelihood. It’s a fascinating way to see how collective intelligence impacts perceived probabilities.

This market resolves around Oct 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Leonenko vs. Martyniuk match as reported by recognized sports authorities. The platform will then determine the winning outcome based on this verified information. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will be entitled to a payout, while those holding shares in losing outcomes will not. It’s important to monitor the event closely as the resolution date approaches.

Several factors could influence this market before it resolves. Any news regarding the players' form, potential injuries, or changes in coaching strategies could significantly shift trader sentiment. Unexpected results in other matches involving these players might also impact the perceived probabilities. Public announcements, expert analyses, and even social media buzz can all contribute to price movements. Monitoring these signals and understanding their potential impact is crucial for anyone participating in this market.
