In the upcoming match between Le Havre AC and FC Lorient, scheduled for November 8, 2026 at 11:15 AM ET: This market will resolve to "Le Havre AC" if Le Havre AC are the first to score in the first half (first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time). This market will resolve to "FC Lorient" if FC Lorient are the first to score in the first half (first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time). If neither team scores in the first half (first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time), this market will resolve to "Neither". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve to "Neither". This market refers only to goals scored within the first 45 minutes of regular play plus first-half stoppage time. Second-half goals, extra time, and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. Recognizable abbreviations, alternate or erroneous spellings, sponsor names, regional identifiers, and minor formatting differences in a team's or player's name will not affect resolution, provided the intended team or player can be clearly and uniquely identified as a participant in the listed fixture or competition. If a listed name has no reasonable connection to any participant, or could reasonably refer to more than one participant such that the intended team or player cannot be determined, this market will resolve as it would if the listed fixture had been canceled entirely; a listed participant who cannot be identified does not count as inactive or absent. The primary resolution source for this market will be official match information from Ligue 1 (https://www.ligue1.com/). If the governing body or event organizers have not published final statistics within 2 hours of the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to express their independent beliefs about the likelihood of each team scoring first. Discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of information, biases, or simply varying interpretations of the teams’ form and potential. It's common to see prediction markets move more efficiently as new information becomes available, potentially offering value compared to fixed sportsbook lines.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each possible outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the prices adjust to reflect the collective assessment of the likelihood of either Le Havre or Lorient scoring the first goal of the first half. The market’s efficiency is driven by the incentive for traders to accurately predict the outcome.
This market resolves around Nov 8, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the outcome will be determined by which team, Le Havre AC or FC Lorient, scores the first goal during the first half of the match. If neither team scores during the first half, the market will resolve as 'No Goal'. The resolution will be based on official match data and verified against reliable sports news sources.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Le Havre or Lorient would likely cause significant movement. Changes in team form, tactical adjustments announced by the managers, or even weather conditions on match day could also impact trader sentiment. Unexpected news regarding team morale or internal conflicts could also shift the odds. Any information that alters perceptions of either team’s scoring ability has the potential to move this market.
