Frequently asked questions

Often, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and need to account for profit margins, while this market represents the collective beliefs of informed traders. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the dynamic nature of how each venue prices the event. It’s common to find that prediction markets are more accurate than traditional forecasts, especially when a significant amount of volume is traded.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price adjusts to reflect the evolving consensus. The market’s depth—the number of shares available at different price points—indicates the level of confidence traders have in each possible result.

This market resolves around Oct 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Lazebnyi vs. Mitla match, as declared by the governing sporting body. The platform will verify the result against these sources to determine which outcome is the winner and distribute payouts accordingly. Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Any news regarding the athletes’ recent performance, injuries, or changes in training regimens could significantly impact trader sentiment.
