Description

These markets focus on the number of passing touchdowns achieved by specific quarterbacks during a football game between Las Vegas and New York. The outcomes depend on whether the designated player meets or exceeds various thresholds of scoring passes during the match.

Kalshi

Each market resolves based on whether the specified quarterback records a minimum number of passing touchdowns during the entire game, including any overtime periods. All contracts are designated as protected, meaning if a player participates in at least one play during the first half but does not participate in any play after the first half concludes (including overtime), the contract resolves to the fair price prior to the game's kickoff unless the player achieves the required number of passing touchdowns. If the player participates in any play after the first half, the contract settles based on actual statistics regardless of first-half involvement. Participation in a play nullified by penalty does not count, and a player who never participates is subject to the fair price non-participation rule. The protected designation applies only to full-game contracts with an above or at-least payout criterion. Kalshi is not affiliated with the governing league, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert opinions, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own insights. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook’s line is inaccurate, they can influence the price on Kalshi, potentially creating a divergence. This dynamic can lead to prediction market odds being more accurate, particularly as the event approaches and more information becomes available. It's common to see differences, especially early in the trading period.

On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes, and the price of each contract fluctuates based on supply and demand. As more people buy contracts for a particular outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price of a contract reflects the market’s collective probability assessment of that outcome occurring. This means the price isn’t determined by a bookmaker, but by the aggregated actions of all participants trading on the exchange. This dynamic pricing mechanism aims to represent the most up-to-date and informed prediction of the event’s outcome.

This market resolves around Nov 1, 2026, following the conclusion of the Las Vegas versus New York game. The outcome will be determined by the verified number of passing touchdowns scored by each quarterback during the game. This information will be confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting, such as official NFL game statistics and sports news outlets. The market will then settle based on whether the specified number of passing touchdowns were achieved by the players included in the market contracts.

Several factors could influence trading activity and move this market before resolution. Any news regarding quarterback injuries for either team would likely have a significant impact. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest adverse conditions for passing, could also shift the odds. Unexpected announcements about player availability, such as a key receiver being ruled out, could also cause price fluctuations. Finally, general sentiment shifts based on expert analysis or public opinion regarding the teams’ offensive capabilities could drive trading volume and alter the prices in this market.
